South Korean Driver’s Licensing Reciprocity

Applicants with a valid unexpired South Korea license may transfer their license to Kansas without needing to complete a written or driving exam.

Required Documents

  1. Valid South Korea driver’s license.
  2. 2 pieces of mail in applicant’s name showing Kansas residential address.
  3. Social security card (Not needed for those who are in the US on a non-work authorized visa).
  4. Proof of lawful presence.
    Examples:
    • Employment authorization card.
    • Permanent resident card.
    • I-94 accompanied by valid passport.
    • I-20 accompanied by valid passport.
    • DS-2019 accompanied by valid passport.
  5. Legal name change document, if name on lawful presence document is different than current name.
  6. Corrective lenses, if needed. A vision exam will be required while at the driver’s license office.
